Lego Dalek Playsets

Character Building Lego Dalek Sets Let You Have Fun with the Doctor’s Most Enduring Villains

Lego Dalek sets and micro-figures by Character Building let you have fun with one of Doctor Who’s most enduring villains. The Daleks are cyborgs from the planet Skaros who have implanted their mutant bodies into a tank-like mechanical shell. Purged of all emotion except hate, the Daleks lack pity or compassion and are motivated only by the desire to purge the universe of all non-Dalek life.

They were created by Doctor Who creator Terry Nation and were first introduced in December 1963 in the second Doctor Who serial The Daleks. The instant popularity of the Daleks helped turn Doctor Who from a Saturday morning educational program to a national phenomenon. The Daleks have since become so famous that their catchphrases such as “Exterminate!” and “We are the Supreme Beings!” have become part of British popular culture.

They also appeared in two theatrical films, Dr. Who and the Daleks (1965) and Daleks Invasion Earth: 2150 AD (1966) which starred Peter Cushing as the Doctor. The Daleks who appeared in these films also inspired the New Paradigm Daleks that first appeared in the episode Victory of the Daleks.

Character Building has produced two Dalek playsets:

The Dalek Factory is a highly detailed set that includes actual moving parts such as a conveyor belt on which you can put Dalek mini-figures, a swiveling machine arm that can hold Dalek figures and control panels as well as a Dalek parts hopper and a rejected parts bin. It comes with constructible red Dalek Drone and yellow Dalek Scientist figures. Designed for ages six and up, the Dalek Factory set lets you build your own Dalek army to conquer the universe. It is designed for ages five and up.

The Dalek Progenitor set is a highly-detailed replica of the Progenitor device on the Dalek spaceship which the New Paradigm Daleks emerged to disintegrate the “inferior” original models. The highly-detailed set comes with a white Dalek Supreme mini-figure. It is designed for ages six and up.

These Lego Dalek playsets are scaled to work with other Character Building Doctor Who micro-figures, such as the Dalek Army Builder Pack, which comes with five Dalek Drones, as well as the Doctor Who Micro-Figures series which feature figures of blue Dalek Strategist, Dalek Drones and Dalek: the Supreme. Lego Dalek Character Building sets are also designed to be compatible with Lego sets as well as other block-based construction sets.

Dr Who Toys – Not Just For Kids

Many adults laugh at the notion of purchasing action figures, toys, and other things. While that can be true for some, there is another group of individuals that while they have grown old, they still use their imagination on a regular basis. For these people there is no limit to what can be purchased, including selecting some of the better options that abound today.

Some of the best toys are not just your average run of the mill cartoon based options, they are from hit television shows of comedic and science fiction nature. One such example is Dr Who toys. The science fiction show that has dazzled audiences throughout the decades has a line up of toys to pay tribute to those that are looking for nostalgia pieces and more.

Before you invest any money into any sort of toy, it’s important to assess what you’re going to do with them. This might seem rudimentary, but it’s crucial to the overall understanding of purchasing action figures and more. The reason you should assess this is because you’ll be more inclined to fall into one of two categories.

Either you’re going to buy these figures and put them on a wall for display or you’re going to take them out of the package and go nuts into imagination land. It’s up to you which way you want to lean, but in consideration of the two options, make sure that you set aside a good budget, because one thing is for sure, just buying one toy is hard.

For fans of the old school version of the show, there are a plethora of options to choose from in regards to the doc. You can get him in a variety of outfits, as well as with his 1970’s afro hair style. You can move to modern times as well, and everything in between.

What about fans of the villains and the other nuances of the show? Well there are figures and toys for them too. The most popular of which happens to be the Daleks. There was even a documentary issued in recent years about just how popular the extra terrestrial creatures come in a variety of colors and while some don’t like the new redesign, they still can be purchased in the classic style.

Selecting the proper Dr Who toys for your needs can be hard. There are so many to choose from, and since the show has gone on for so long, and is still produced today, fans from past and present are going to find it hard to settle on just one or two figures, they’ll most likely want to get them all. Who can blame them? The show is still amazing after all these years.
